The United State's Prison Population is the Largest in the World

Starting this Summer, BrittanyMarie will venture on a 3 month journey cycling across the United States. The ride will start in New York and end on the West coast in the city of San Diego. The purpose of this cross-country journey is to make this a ride for change, to work with incarcerated men, women, and children, who have been affected by trauma. "Breaking Cycles" through yoga and its power to heal.

Breaking Cycles will raise money for charity through its fiscal sponsor, Sheltered Yoga (501c3). An organization that brings Evidence-Based, Trauma-Informed, Mental Health and Wellness Curriculum to underserved and at risk communities, from children to seniors. The nonprofit has been recognized as an effective and innovative approach to rebuilding self-esteem, self-worth, and self-compassion of the communities and individuals it serves and is now the key component in the Breaking Cycles project.

Together we are excited to show what community members are doing and what one can do for the global community. This will be, yet another way, to continue serving people all over America, one mile at a time. The journey will be turned into a documentary, which will feature the trip, trauma sensitive yoga and the experiences along the way. Giving great attention and focus to all the professional teachers, instructors and friends we meet across the country.

BrittanyMarie has made so many wonderful connections and is excited to shine the light on organizations that are currently working inside prison system. Brittany stated, "it's a blessing to have the ability to work directly with so many foundations across America, while gaining the knowledge and wisdom to continue this lifelong calling of service work."
